Announcing the 2012 Summer Jam!!
I'm going to throw an Active People products jam in San Francisco from Thursday, August 9th to Sunday, August 12th, and we'll also be in Los Angeles the next weekend, Friday, August 17th to Sunday, August 19th. (There are a limited number of seats available for the van ride from San Francisco to LA in the intervening days, and there will be some events on the trip south along the coast as well. We might even make it to San Diego that week.) The focus is on Astrojax but we'll also be kiwidoing, yo-yoing, paddle balling, etc. Let's get together, meet in person those whom we've only met on the internet, teach, learn, play, see some sights, and just have a lot of fun. In San Francisco, we'll jax on Sunday at the rollerblade dance area in Golden Gate Park, we'll have a party at Cool Neon (one of the main suppliers of light toys for Burning Man), we'll demo at the Exploratorium (the best science museum in the world in my, and many other people's, opinion), and we'll have a performance evening where everyone will have a chance to show what they've got. In Los Angeles we'll hit the Venice Beach Boardwalk (where last year we found that people *flip* over Blue Diamonds), we'll have an event at Huntington Beach, and we'll hit a flow toys gathering.
If you're planning on coming you will need to finance for your own travel and lodging and will need to have money for meals. This is hosted by me, not Active People or USAstrojax.com, so it is a relatively simple, low-budget affair. You'll be staying mainly in youth hostels, which are very reasonably priced. For instance, dormitory rooms at the Fort Mason Youth Hostel and the Green Tortoise start as low as $28 per night.
Questions, suggestions, etc., post them here!
So, who's planning on coming?

I hope to make it this year... had real fun in the past.
I LOVE demo-ing to crowds with other Jaxers.
What is the name of the science center we were Breakdancing and AJing at?
... we should go back there I got some better ideas worked out.

Sounds cool! The dates are actually sounding familiar, I JUST MIGHT be in California for a cruise, so maybe after my family could drop me off somewhere where you guys are :)
I'm just trying to figure out how I'm going to do a Utah jam... by myself... That's not much of a jam is it :P
Can't wait!

Hey, I'll be up in August visiting cari's family. Let's plan something then.
I'll let you know when I know all the details.

Nobody is going to believe me, but I'm pretty sure I'm goin'!!! We'll be in California for that week (around LA), so I should be able to get to the Jam for the weekend of the 17th. It may be short, but I'll at least get to go :) We'll see how things develop...
Who else is going? I need more details so I can kind of plan on WHERE I need to be and WHEN.
@Ferrell: I'm down for a Utah Jam in August! Cam says he wants to do one, and I bet we could dig up a few other people by then :) Let me know the dates you'll be here and I'll start scheduling. Phil is on a mission btw, so I think he's out... Unless we do a TEXAS JAM!!! :D Also, I need to call you about the CA Jam to see what you're doing.

Yea, I'll let you know as soon as I get dates nailed down for Utah.
Right now, I am good to go to join up for one night of the Jam. I can't make it during the day-time hours, but I try to make it for one of the nights.

By the way, the subtitle name of this tour is either
"The Taco Bell Tour"
or
"There Will Be Dancing"!

That sounds totally epic! :) unfortunately, nobody ever comes within 1,000,000,000,000 miles of New Mexico, so I'll be unable to go. :P
